Today's Latin Lesson |1.3 |

Confiteor / I Confess

Confiteor Deo omnipotenti,
beatae Mariae semper Virgini,
beato Michaeli Archangelo, beato Joanni Baptistae,
sanctis Apostolis Petro et Paulo, omnibus Sanctis,
et vobis fratres, quia peccavi nimis cogitatione verbo,
et opere: mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
Ideo precor beatam Mariam semper Virginem,
beatum Michaelem Archangelum,
beatum Joannem Baptistam,
sanctos Apostolos Petrum et Paulum,
omnes Sanctos, et vos fratres,
orare pro me ad Dominum Deum nostrum.

Thanks father... but isn't this the confiteor said by the priest? How about adding the version said by the server!

"...et vobis fratres..." and "...et vos fratres..." = "...and you brethren..." thus spoken by one person to others. The altar boys would use "...et tibi pater..." and "...et te Pater..."
