Advent Prayer 5

Father in heaven, the day draws near when the glory of your Son will make radiant the night of the waiting world. May the darkness not blind us to the vision of wisdom which fills the minds of those who find him. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen.

Yesterday, at the Mass I attended, the priest gave a sermon about the word "joy" and brought with him three metallic letters that spelled out the word.

Then, near the end of Mass, the priest spoke to the congregation, explaining that Mass next Sunday afternoon does "not count" for both Sunday and Christmas Mass.

Then, the priest explained, "You got two envelopes, you gotta go to two Masses."

"Hey -- I gotta say (all those) Christmas Masses," he said, urging parishioners not to complain.

Then, he yelled, "Suck it up, people!"

There was much laughter in the congregation.

A number of people were filming the priest with their camera phones.

Lovely prayer. The priest mentioned in the comment section, however, sounds like someone lacking in something.
